Who actually funds C-PACE deals

State C-PACE programmes each publish their own roster of registered capital providers. The lists are public, useful, and completely siloed — different sites, different formats, no way to see who works across state lines. This is those rosters, merged.

The merged roster

A provider appears for a state only because that state's programme named it. We have added nothing. Registration means a firm is approved to fund through that programme — it does not tell you their minimum deal size or whether they are deploying this quarter.

The gap

Active programmes that publish no roster

Two of the largest C-PACE markets in the country do not publish who funds in them. If your property is in one of these, the programme administrator is the way in — and worth calling before you assume capital is scarce there.

Pennsylvania · PA C-PACE / Philadelphia C-PACE

Capital providers register with the Sustainable Energy Fund. Approved firms "may then be posted" — no roster was published at the verified date.

Route in: Contact the Sustainable Energy Fund, which administers the register.

Ohio · Ohio PACE

The programme refers to "its network of registered capital providers" but publishes no roster.

Route in: Call Ohio PACE on 614-227-4888 and ask which providers are active for your project type.

Several programmes publish a named contact alongside each provider. Those are on the official pages linked above and we have deliberately not reproduced them here — a programme publishing a colleague's email for its own borrowers is not the same as us republishing it. Company names, websites and state coverage are the parts that belong in a directory.

About this list

How many C-PACE capital providers are there?

We have identified 58 distinct capital providers from the rosters published by 4 state and county C-PACE programmes. That is a floor, not a total — several active programmes publish no roster at all, so providers working only in those states do not appear here.

Which C-PACE providers work in more than one state?

16 of the 58 providers appear on more than one state roster. Bayview PACE, Nuveen Green Capital and Petros PACE Finance appear on four each. Multi-state providers matter because they carry consistent underwriting across jurisdictions, so a project that fits one of them is easier to move if the first state does not work out.

Does being on a state list mean a provider will fund my project?

No. Registration means the provider is approved to fund through that programme and is generally looking for deal flow there. It says nothing about minimum deal size, property type appetite, or whether they are actively deploying right now. Those are the questions the first phone call answers.

Why do some states have no provider list?

Programmes differ in how they handle registration. Pennsylvania approves providers through the Sustainable Energy Fund and says approved firms "may then be posted". Ohio refers to a network of registered providers without publishing it. In those states the programme administrator is the route in.

Eligibility check

Skip the roster and describe the project

Matching a property to a provider that funds that size, in that state, for that asset type is the part we do. Fifty-eight names is a starting point, not an answer.

  • Commercial and business purposes only — we do not place consumer loans.
  • If the project does not qualify, we say so and tell you what would change that.
  • No credit pull to get an answer on program eligibility.
  • We reply within one business day.

C-PACE eligibility is decided by the property — its address, its jurisdiction, the scope of work, and who holds the mortgage. That is why this form asks about the building rather than about you. The more of it you can answer, the more specific our first reply is.

1 Who you are
2 The property
3 The project What is being financed? tick all that apply
4 Existing debt

This is the part that most often decides the timeline. A C-PACE assessment sits ahead of the mortgage, so most programs require the senior lender's written consent.
