C-PACE by state

Every state and DC, ranked by cumulative investment. Status reflects what we could confirm on the verified date — an active program still has to be adopted by the county or municipality where your property actually sits.

What a blank means

Our volume source breaks out only the largest markets — 27 states in all. Every other state that has a program reads not broken out, and that is a gap in the published data, not a sign the state is quiet. (no program is the other thing entirely: no C-PACE confirmed there at all.) Those 27 states account for $10.29B of the $13.50B invested nationally (about 76%) and 2,454 of 3,837 projects (about 64%) — so roughly half the money and most of the deals sit in states shown blank here. 8 states with confirmed active programs have no published figure of their own.

National and state figures come from different publishers, so treat that comparison as scale rather than arithmetic. We are filling these state by state from the programs’ own reporting; each figure carries the date and source it came from. A figure marked ≥ was assembled from individual closings we could each trace to a named source — a verified floor, not a program total.

Volume figures: C-PACE Alliance, 2024 National Program Volume Data (cumulative, all time), which publishes a per-state breakdown for the largest markets only — “not broken out” means no verified figure exists for that state in our sources, not that no C-PACE has been done there. Status: C-PACE Alliance active program list. “Authorized” means enabling legislation exists but program activity was not confirmed on the verified date — check with the state program before relying on it. Average deal size is derived from the cumulative figures and is indicative only.
